On the 20th and 21st of September 2017, the 6th edition of the Smart City Forum took place at the Sheraton Warsaw Hotel. During the Forum, representatives of both businesses and administration debated over the intelligent transformation of cities. The conference, full of extraordinarily interesting discussions as well as a large dose of knowledge, was attended by over 400 participants.
The autumn edition of the conference was opened by the Deputy Mayor of the City of Wrocław – Maciej Bluj. A colourful and inspirational presentation followed this, presented by the Guest of Honour – Renato de Castro, Smart City Expert.
Transformation in the functioning of cities affects many aspects of life. During the seven debate blocks, the experts touched on many branches with the context of smart cities. At the beginning, the debaters presented their vision and plans for the intelligent management of infrastructural resources, and then discussed the sharing of such resources, e.g. car sharing or ride sharing. The next block had the speakers deciding on how to improve the mobile payment process of city services, so that it will be fast and secure. The final block during the first day of the conference hosted very interesting discussions about the assumptions and perspectives of public safety.
During the second day, the participants found out the perspectives of how the 5G network will be implemented in cities, as well as when the realistic deadline for its start in Poland. Experts also spoke about other topics such as the chances and challenges connected with electromobility as well as smart energy networks. An interesting point of the discussions were answers from the publics questions, sent via a mobile application.

Smart City Forum is a cyclic conference, which is a very effective platform for the exchange of opinions and experience regarding the development of smart cities in Poland. The organizer of the event is MMC Polska.
